Webinar Overview
In this webinar, Ely Alfonso dives into using defensive tactics while conducting an arrest. Not every handcuffing situation will be ideal - sometimes the suspect will resist, fight back or attempt to flee. With the assistance of Matt (guest suspect) and "Professor Turtle", otherwise known as Nicholas Manela, a first degree black belt under Ricardo Almeida and over 12 years of experience in BJJ, Ely is able to demonstrate how to utilize different brazilian jiu jitsu techniques to control a suspect and de-escalate a situation when an arrest is being made. Ely will go over how to approach the suspect when attempting to use handcuffs, how to position yourself for the best tactical advantage, as well as how the approach changes when you are working alongside your partner.
