Street Cop University 2.0
As you may know, the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 were incredibly challenging for both me and the company. Many of our plans were disrupted by events beyond our control. We did not expect anyone to take the biased and strategically fabricated report from the NJ State Office of the Comptroller seriously. Unfortunately, we were mistaken. While many understood the truth of our company, there was an emotional, knee-jerk reaction typical of our industry.

When Street Cop University was launched, we had everything in place: a full staff of instructors, recording facilities, videographers, editors, and administrators. However, we were blindsided by the timing and impact of the report. Almost immediately, more than half our instructors left and many scheduled classes were cancelled. I was forced to make the difficult decision to let some of my staff go, leading to chaos.

I want to clarify that I understand we work in a risk-averse field, and I hold no grudges against those who acted in what they thought was necessary. However, it quickly became apparent that there was a long road ahead.

During this rebuilding process, I returned to the core purpose of why I started this company. I recognized the challenges facing modern policing and the training that officers need:

  • Manpower issues (officers unable to attend training due to road work)
  • Distance and cost of training (5-day trips can be expensive)
  • Administrative hurdles (endless lists for officers and administrators)
  • Budget constraints (agencies and officers have limited funds)

These are significant hurdles, but they’re not the only challenges. I decided to refocus on Street Cop University. It was built to be something great, and it will be. However, I needed to reassess its purpose and pricing. I realized it was priced too high for many people. Therefore, we made some adjustments and were able to significantly lower the price, allowing more officers access to quality training.

Next, I’m committed to providing the best content taught by top instructors. We’ve partnered with other companies and training experts in the field and are preparing them to record for Street Cop University. We are focused on delivering exceptional training—not just check-the-box content.

We’ve also been working on converting our platform into an app, which will soon be available for mobile users. It’s been a challenging process, but we’re nearing the launch.

NEW PRICING:
For annual members nearing renewal, the new price will be $99/year (breaks down to $8.25 monthly), which includes great benefits. For monthly members, the new price will be $14/month, which allows you to still reap the benefits of SCU while paying on a month to month basis. We are also offering a bi-annual option for those who want to save more money but can't commit to a full year. This subscription plan will be $69/every 6 months (breaks down to $11.50 monthly).

As many of you know, if you were an annual member, you had the option to attend the conference at no cost and/or transfer said ticket to any active LEO you knew. We did this in hopes to give more people the opportunity to attend this event, however during the 2024 conference, we came to realize a lot of people weren't able to take advantage of that deal. With that being said, we have decided not to include a conference ticket with an SCU subscription. This is just one example of how we were able to make adjustments to be able to lower the cost of our subscriptions. We're coming up on our first full year of having SCU and have learned a lot. We took into consideration all of the feedback we have received as well as our own observations and we feel that this restructuring is not only better to help us grow the SCU platform, but also to help benefit all of you.

As an annual member you will receive a $100 discount on the 2025 conference ticket, making the ticket $399 instead of $499. Next year’s conference will be at the Omni Downtown Nashville on May 27-29, right behind the Bridgestone Arena. We have exciting plans in store! As always, the first 250 registrants will be invited to a private dinner event valued at over $100 per person, with entertainment included. The conference link will be going live soon, keep an eye on socials for when it is announced.

Your feedback is important to me, and I want to keep the lines of communication open. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new pricing structure, the conference or SCU, please feel free to reach out to us.

The updated pricing will reflect on your next billing cycle, however you are able to cancel your subscription at any time if you no longer wish to be a member. Please note - if you have scheduled your membership to cancel, whether monthly or annual, you will need to resubscribe upon your membership ending. We recognize this will be a transition period and are here to help in any way we can.
